January 1, 2009 - didn't sleep because of noise party across the street, so stayed in today. At the feeders were Robin, Pigeon, Mourning Dove, House Sparrow, Tree Sparrow, Song Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Junco, Titmouse, Goldfinch, House Finch, Pine Siskin, Cardinal, Flicker, Starling
January 2 -- evening...saw Peregrine Falcon on Town Hall and Unitarian Church....too dark for pictures
January 3 -- after work went to Arsene and walked down bike path. Saw a Kingfisher and Great Blue Heron
Jan 4 -- walked West Island State Res. for SEANET - Good views of Short-eared Owl. At one point he was mobbed by a Herring Gull who snapped at him with its bill while a Black-backed Gull flew around making a very odd noise. The speckled Canada Goose has been around for months...must be some form of albinism. There was another similarly marked goose too. After lunch went to Mill Road and got a Red-shouldered Hawk and a Fox Sparrow.
