Carolyn Longworth (clongworth) > The building with trees in front of it is our hotel. I took this from the ferry to Pico. As the boat was pulling away from the dock, a taxi screeched up, a guy jumped out and jumped about two feet to get into the boat.

Carolyn Longworth (clongworth) > This South American tourist yelled at one of the natives for throwing a cigarette butt into the water....he was crazy. He yelled in English since it's the universal language and asked the guy if he would do that in his house. If he tried that in the US, he'd get shot.

Carolyn Longworth (clongworth) > The whole island was covered in lava stones. There are walls everywhere since they had to put the stones somewhere. This little area had nice little summer homes. The taxi driver said his brother bought one for 25,000 euros and had to spend another 100,000 to fix it up.
