Merganser at Long Road. Lots of Phoebes, Robins, Yellow-rumped Warblers, at least one early Palm Warbler, some Pine Warblers all darting around the edge of the water.
I heard what sounded like a couple gunshots and when we got back to the car, saw a Mallard belly up in the pool near the road....looked like it had just happened. I ran into a policeman a little later and he was very disgusted. He remembered last year when 2 big full-grown men shot up a pair of Canada Geese and their fluffy goslings. He said the court gave them NOTHING!
