Carolyn Longworth (clongworth)  > Birds > February 2007 > February 10, 2007
Cold, but not much wind. Walked my beach at Winsegansett, but only saw a few Bufflehead, Mergs, and one Pipit. Maybe the same solitary bird I saw in November. It was too icy to cross the second inlet, so only walked half of the beach.
Went to West Island town beach. Purring group of over 50 Common Eider. One Great Blue Heron who looked pretty miserable. Heard crow hunters and saw them down one crow.
Went to YMCA where there were tons of Canada Geese. Near the RR bridge there were Hooded Mergs, Goldeneye, some Great Black-backed gulls having a quarrel and heard a Kingfisher. In the River at River Road, a female Bufflehead was mingling with the Mallards.
