At Egypt Lane at lunch time, saw these Eastern Kingbirds. The big baby was very vociferous and the parent alternated between totally ignoring the baby and flying off and getting grasshoppers for it. The baby got all excited when the parent returned, but since the grasshoppers were huge, it took a while for the parent to finally kill the prey and stuff it into the baby.
Nice Black Swallowtail butterfly took over a thistle plant. I was trying to get a picture of a goldfinch on the plant, but it flew away.
