October 1 to 19, 2006 : October 1-- Winsegansett -- Palm Warbler was very cooperative for a long time, keeping just ahead of me. Bad weather for photos October 15 - RR bed from end of Shaw Road to YMCA - Nashville Warbler on Fairhaven side, lots of Yellow-Rumped Warblers, herons, but no Osprey, no AMOY. October 16 -- Long Road - lots of YRWA, a Phoebe, several Ruby-crowned Kinglets (one showing his crest and squabbling) Plenty of Monarch butterflies. October 19 -- Winsegansett -- At least 20 DCCO, a Black-bellied Plover, several Savannah Sparrows, a dozen Common Eider, a Northern Harrier, flock of Greater (?)Yellowlegs, Belted Kingfisher. But no AMOY or other shorebirds. Still lots of Monarch butterflies.

October 21 to 29, 2006 : October 21 -- Winsegansett (no amoy); Black bellied Plover (no pic), Savannah Sparrows, Great and Double-Crested Cormorants. October 22--Rail trail in Mattapoisett. Osprey, Kingfisher, Hermit Thrush, Red Squirrel October 25 -- Stony Point Dike. Snow Buntings (no pic), Horned Grebes, 5 Turkey Vultures, Northern Harrier (no pic), old plane October 27 - Mattapoisett Rail Bridge 2 pairs of Hooded Mergs. October 29 - West Island Snow Buntings, Hacker Street Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow, Matt. Rail trail Golden Crowned Kinglets (lousy pic, but can see orange crest)
